  2. PrintGL Description

  4. PrintGL is a shareware pen plotter emulator for IBM/DOS systems.
  5.  
  6. PrintGL prints an HP-GL (HP Graphics Language - HP 7475, 7440/17440 subsets)
  7. plotfile on a matrix printer. HP-GL is widely supported by graphics programs
  8. including AutoCAD, Microstation, Generic CADD, MathCAD, SAS, and many more.
  9. PrintGL has drivers for Epson and IBM compatible 9 pin printers, Epson, IBM,
  10. NEC, and Toshiba compatible 24 pin printers, HP Laserjet, Deskjet, PaintJet,
  11. QuietJet, and plotters, IBM ExecJet, Quietwriter 2/3, and LaserPrinter, Canon
  12. LBP and BJ printers, Kodak Color 4, Mannesmann Tally MT92C and color DeskJet
  13. compatible printers, and PostScript printers. It will also display plots with a
  14. CGA, EGA, VGA, EVGA, or HGC, and output a .PCX or .IMG file.

  16. Even if your graphics program supports your printer, you will probably find
  17. that PrintGL is faster, gives better print quality, and/or gives more
  18. formatting flexibility. PrintGL uses the best graphics modes available for each
  19. printer that it supports and uses transfer data compression to improve print
  20. speed on many printers. And it gives options such as paper size, orientation,
  21. magnification, and pen width, color (with color mixing), and shading.
